Some nations
have had to combine departments during worker shortages like when the virus
emptied positions throughout all sectors. This mode of operations still lingers
today. The internet has made it easier for people to find what their government
offers including information and schedules, access to certain departments, or news
and alerts, but this has exacerbated the situation in some ways as the websites
were flooded by the masses. It still is in turmoil as there are more job
opportunities than applicants, and too, there is a very real lasting trend
toward career focus. What this means is that young people have come to understand
that they do not necessarily want to climb any corporate ladder and see
themselves as more social conscious than previous workers.
Even older
job seekers are looking for positions which help their communities and promote
both physical and mental well-being. In short, they just want to help people,
not just themselves. I think this self-image or awareness is the new way for
any nation or government to attract and retain public servants. Giving clear job
descriptions and pathways for successful entry into government departments or
contracting will provide any country that competitive advantage they may need
as technologies advance.
I predict,
based on my analysis of current ideology among young and old alike, that people
are interested in living places where they feel comfortable, healthy, and safe.
They are more willing to move somewhere they see as a long-term solution or
advancement only if they can have an inner peace that what they are doing is
for the greater good. This means that all the money in the world thrown their
way will not entice them to your region or department. What it also means is
that you must give information that has clear and understandable values the
would-be worker or new citizen gets from their leap of faith. They want to know
that their life means something to others. The benefits to society from their
service will outweigh any compensation you may offer.
So, include
in your resume` exactly how their job impacts the population. Tell them the
lengths of education, experience, and service they can expect by moving to your
country or performing departmental or military services. Show them how they may
contribute their efforts, not as any sort of leadership role or leg up, but as
stand-alone milestones.
If the person does not feel the need to rise above their
area of interest, do not push them to advance. If a person asks you about what
your nation is doing about climate change or social programs, you better be
able to supply precise and accurate information. Because people now are
different. They want the truth. They are tired of all the chaos and red tape in
governments. They want relief from stresses, pressures, and threats to them and
their families. They want quality time at home and are willing to step back and
down to get there. This is how to proceed as new national awareness program.
Anything less and you will be following the leader.
